Aïn Defla is a wilaya of the upper Chéliff valley, 145 km west of Algiers. Located between the Zaccar range (1,580 m) to the north and Ouarsenis massifs to the south, it hosts one of Algeria's natural treasures: Theniet El Had National Park, refuge of the largest cedar forest in North Africa. The region offers contrasting landscapes: snowy peaks in winter, millennial cedar forests, fertile Chéliff agricultural plains, old ksour. Aïn Defla is also a major producer of citrus, table grapes and olive oil. For nature lovers, Theniet El Had park is one of Algeria's most impressive destinations.
